Sitting in the darkened room with you
I'm in the corner, arms crossed in front of me
The shadows catching the spidery veins
Crawling up my arms
As if to give you a map
To navigate the strange island of my mind
You beg, plead for words
I'm silent
Silence radiates off of me
Onto you
Like radioactive waves
And I know I'm as toxic to you
As an x-ray without a lead apron
Giving you the not-so-proverbial cancer
You hurl your accusations
I neither refute nor argue
But rather nod
Accepting
See, the best I can offer
Is that what I know for sure
Is that it's safer for you to think
That I'm merely creating all this drama
Than know for sure
That I'm concocting elaborate plans
To put an end to it
